I'm building an 07 motor and putting that into my 03 frame and i was wondering if the stone deflector is the same going from the 03 to the 07. I haven't been able to find it online. I'm curious is it really necessary on our bikes? | ||

oh yeah i'm talking about the part that's next to the motor sprocket and above the idler. | ||

The front belt sprocket cover? Is it this piece:  I personally wouldn't ride an XB without it, you don't want a piece of clothing getting sucked in there... There are also electrical connectors under there that get some protection from that piece of plastic. Since you have an 07 motor, you'll want the bigger cover that goes with the larger pulleys. This would also mean changing out your rear sprocket. | ||

I have that part. I'm talking about the one behind it. It's metal with a rubber flap. | ||

This may help... States: "Genuine front drive pulley / sprocket stone deflector. This goes under your black cover to help keep the road garbage off your belt. This ONLY works on the 2003 XB models with the factory G0500.02A8R belt and covers. If the bike has been up dated to the G0500.1AAH belt this will not fit. ." | ||

No its this thing in the link which i have for my 2003 bike but I'm guessing there is one for the second gen swing arm and motor. Ah, you're guessing. The '04 up kit is just two pieces, as my photo showed. Not the 4-5 piece setup on the '03. Swingarms are the same. |
