I've had a customer ask me about the front L1501.02A8 going obsolete, yes it has been classified as pending obsolete. This means that once the part is sold out they will no longer be getting anymore from their supplier. Stop! Don't jump off the building and back away from the edge, you're safe for awhile. I checked with HD and they have a few thousand in stock and at the current usage rate they have enough for 8+ years. |

That reminds me of the talk from 2009 that the law allegedly required manufacturers to make spare parts available for 7 years after a company is shut down or something. HD has gone well beyond that, at least in this case. |

My local HD dealer, and the only one on the island, happily supplies parts if they're available from HD. Most prices are very reasonable. Today, the XT failed to start or proceed in 3 degrees C temperatures. Spark plugs fouled. What was I using.... NGK DCPR9EIX Put in some old (3+ years and 20,000ks) Screaming Eagle plugs and no problemo, started straight up. The NGK are touted all over the inter web as being the bees knees, HD is shite, etc. Well, experience has shown me the HD stuff still works. HD dealer suggested putting them in, couldn't hurt. Didn't try to sell me anything, just offered advice. Sorry Lance, I know this has SFA to do with the subject directly. |
