Had a nice Uly but with American Sport Bike Al closing shop I was concerned about the future and sold. I would really like another one. Are there enough suppliers now to cover all the wear items? Front rotor, valve cover gaskets, sensors, cooling fans race ecm, etc? Looking at an 09 with STT forks, shock, XT triples. Would like a lower Uly but not sure how that package handles. Also wondering if side cases and rack would be unicorn dust to find. Thanks. (Message edited by baybueller on February 23, 2018) |

St Paul Harley was the supplier that Al used, they for the most part took over that role but don't have as much in terms of aftermarket. Other than that, everything else has been pretty much the same as when you left. Rotors - There are a handful of different ones available, the stuff from Buell and EBR, in addition to Braking and Galfer and EBC. Gasket are very easy, Cometic makes a full engine kit, but if I remember right valve cover gaskets are common with the Sportster. The cooling fan is a bit of a unique item, at least the frame of it, the guts are available and I've seen someone "rebuild" a fan already. That 09 sounds like it handles exactly like an Xb12Stt, so it should handle perfect like any other Buell. The STT used the same frame, subframe, and swingarm as the X, just the suspension is a different height. The SS, STT, XT, and 06-07 X all used the same trees, so if what you said is true it sounds like a perfect conversion. Racks and cases shouldn't be too hard to find, I'm not sure if the OEM stuff is still available, if not there are a handful of aftermarket options. |

I see you snuck stuff in an edit. Nearly the entire FI system is off the shelf automotive parts, you can go to Autozone and get all the sensors and injectors. They won't be able to get you a throttle body or ECM though. The ECMs can be bought from EBR or IDS, IDS is the OEM company that has made every Buell and EBR ECM, both stock and Race, going back to the 90s. (Message edited by Froggy on February 23, 2018) |

looks like I jumped too soon on selling the last one.I do a lot of long rides and reliability is key, but I must add none of my last 3 Buells ever left me on the roadside. Hoping to hear from the 09 seller. Thanks for the input and Froggy, you are a die hard, seen a lot of guys come and go but you are always here. |

Yep I'm a lifer. I'll be riding my Buell fleet as long as it is practically possible. |

I've got a Uly I could let go of, but it's an X model, not the XT. |
