I have the D&D on my xb12r and just put the fast system on. I am going to go to the dyno tomm. will I be able to dyno or do I have to put on my race ecm (which I also have but not on yet) Should I ask them to put the ecm on then dyno the bike or just dyno it as it sits. Thanks |

Can I ride the bike the way it is right now? I will see if they can put the ecm on before the dyno? |

Don't put the race ECM on unless you will be at a Buell dealer or have access to a Techlusion. If you do change ECM's you will need to have your TPS reset! |

Ride the bike to the dealer, install the race ECM in the parking lot, have them reset the TPS, have them do the Dyno. |

So im in similar circumstances, I have installed the new ECM, will it damage the engine if i ride 30 miles to the dealers. What do you reckon Morts |

It won't damage but you might foul out a set of plugs.Mine did after just starting it twice. |

I rode mine for 4 days with race ecm, drummer, K&N ( about 300 ) prior to TPS adjustment. (12R). Bike had 3900 miles on when installed, about 5600 now, Runs great! Not to say right or wrong, just letting you know it ran fine, no harm |

I'd change it in the lot like I did. Took about 10 min. just tinkering at a modest pace. I took the tools with me. (I think a # 10 socket and ratchet, a #4 screwdriver and a needle nose just in case.) Took the seat off, battery out, old ecm out, and back in with the new. This differs with the bolt, because the ecm is in the front fairing. |

A word on the TPS resets WRT new ECMs - it's purely a matter of chance. Some ECMs are 'close enough' that the bike will run quite well (though you should still get the TPS done), others are so far off that it will not run at all (mine, for example, would not stay running for more than 5 seconds). You never know until it's done, hence the 'do it in the parking lot' line. |

If it starts and runs your in luck. Mine ran just but needed a little help idling when cold but after a couple of miles things got slightly better and I had a very sad idles but enough to get by. |
