I always wondered if this was possible
I own a 99 M2 and not enough room for this but not sure about the XB's as not been up close to one to check it out .
Could a disc be bolted to the front pulley and then a bracket be made for the caliper? This would remove all of the rear brake from the unsprung rear and move the weight inboard in keeping with the mass centralisation philosophy of buell .
Just a thought, it's how my mind works sometimes. Also can't see it effecting the numb rear brake efficiency much if it was possible.
Am prepared for the abuse from those that think I've lost it lol.

Interesting stuff there!

Swing arm with oil tank?
Eccentric chain tensioner
Dual radial front brake
What else?

Note too that you'll loose some brake efficiency mounting the caliper to the front sprocket.
Not that it's used that much anyway, just a heads up...

How will you lose "some brake efficiency"?

You'd have to figure out the mechanical advantage differences between the rotor on the wheel (just the tire diameter working on it) and the gear ratio altering the forces. It will certainly put a lot more force in the backwards direction on the chain or belt, your idler better be able to handle the forces.

Am sure I've seen a brake like this on a motogp bike , think it might have been a Honda ?

I've also thought of this. It's just not really worth it imo. I'd rather see a rotor and pulley radially mounted to the rear wheel

They do those for harleys
In board rear brake is more to the buell weight centralisation philosophy.
