Here my XB with race kit installed. Bar end mirrors are next. What is the best way to take off the stickers on the frame without scraching the surface.   | ||

Hairdryer and some acetone to remove the sticky stuff that the sticker leaves behind. If no acetone just use WD40 | ||

Sorry, black Do not use acetone!!!!!! acetone is the main ingredient in most paint strippers!!!!! I managed to peel most of the sticker off and a strong fingernail got the rest. The residue came off easily with mineral spirits, or WD40 will work too. Acetone may not damage the surface initially, but when applied, can soften the paint and cause adhesion problems down the road.(blistering/peeling) p.s. acetone is a wonderful thing when not worried about damaging a finish. My stickers peeled right off with no residue whatsoever. If you do have some use some goo-gone or wd-40......Odie | ||

Acetone...meaning finger nail polish remover. It's not 100% acetone. Of course not on plastic, Max. Sorry guys, didn't mean to cause any damage. | ||

Or use a gas torch. Just a gentle heat, don't turn it right up. A gas welding torch works OK as long as your leave the Ox down low..........You loonies! | ||

A hairdryer is all that is normally necessary. No solvents needed. Just warm the sticker up a little, lift a corner with a fingernail and "walk" the hot air over the sticker as you peel the sticker off. Works every time for me. | ||

Thanks guys i will use the hairdryer plus goo gone method. I love the mirrors but they do rub up with the bar end , should i cut some of the grip to fix this problem. Odie i am thinking about selling the stock pipe. Give me an offer. Oh yea do the race kit pipes rust, and if so what should i treat them with. | ||

I had to trim the grip a little on my Cyclone with the Napoleans. If you use the bar end plugs that came with your handguards, drill a hole through the length of them, and mount the bar ends to those (using them as a stand off), that would also probably solve your problem. |
