Nope 1157 is the brake light bulb "american" number. BUT you might also want to you should look into American Sport Bike LED tailight conversion. YES, it is expensive, YES you "should" buy the clear tailight lens at the same time (not too bad $ wise). I have had cagers tell me it is the brightest, most annoyingly intense brake light they have ever seen. AND, they have intergrated turn signals!! }I like being seen!!  I have it, I think it is well worth it, I would buy another any day of the week. Hell, I am looking into having a certain someone make a custom set for my VW!! Just MY opinion!
