Okay....don't start flaming me until I get a couple of answers to my questions. This is the easy question: 1) Will the XBScg seat fit on a CityX? My wife is very interested in the bike. However, she needs at least 2-3" of extra clearance (she's 5'5" ). 2) Does anyone think Buell will release other colors of the translucent bodywork in the future? She really wants the bike in pink. I can see that it would appeal to the female buyer to have the CityX in pink. It might even look kinda cool to boot (remember, wife's bike ) Okay...now back you're regularly scheduled board. |

I don't know how well Plexiglas would hold up on one of the bikes, but I can easily see someone setting up a mold and start vacuum-forming a bunch of transparent colors. Not sure what the price/point decision is on these, but I can also see Buell easily begin to sell transparent/translucent bodywork in a variety of colors (assuming past attempts at custom color buyer's choice attempts from the past doesn't kill the possibility). But then I could also be totally wrong. As always, set her down on one to test fit the bike and go from there. |

Translucent red comes to mind as a more marketable color, and on thought, would be darned appealing. |

my mom makes acrylic retainers for kids with any sort of small stickers set inside them. and rainbow of colors too. acrylic resin is neat to work with. could be a one-off answer. |

I have to admit I have considered placing a string of led's around the base of the airbox cover, but then I remember that I AM 40 something. |

I like the trans black idea. If I ever get a City I would pull the blue stuff and replace it with regular black anyway. The black idea is sick! |

Gscheutte... get the translucid blue stuff, and put a good coat of black paint on the *inside* of the plastic. I expect the result would be fantastic. Think black with 1/4 *inch* of blue clearcoat, a deep liquid black with blue highlights. Silver would be cool as well. The flyscreen can't be that expensive, get one and play with it. Reepi, I'm following your City transformation/growth closely, so please keep us up to date. I may be *forced* to add one to the family in the near future. A smoked, much like a tinted window, black would be totally sick. Greg |

keep in mind that the SC models are also suspension dropped significantly The City Cross (XB9SX)has a higher seat height, and stiffer suspension, not at all lower. You must be thinking of the XB12SCG. |

yeah glitch... Then why bring it up? This thread is about the XB9SX. And yes I read it just fine, that's why my post was very clear on what bike was what. |

I second Reepicheep's idea of painting the inside of the plastic black. I was at the dealer today, eyeing up a xb9sx of my own and my idea was to paint the inside white. Black would be better though. |

Yep...was thinking about the Scg seat on the SX. I think that would give her enough height clearance to feel comfortable. Now I just need to get her into the Riders Edge course next spring. There may be a new Buell in the garage by the end of next summer Of course, we'd have to keep the stock seat so I could get around on it also |
