I am about to order a service manual for my 08 firebolt this morning but before I do: Is there an electrical schematic in the book? There also is an electrical troubleshooting manual available for an 08 lightning , would the electrical be different between the two models? Any of you guys have a suggestion or a second hand service manual you want to sell? Thanks | ||

The early manuals have also electric schematics included. Don't know about the later ones ,but that,s probably why there are separate manuals. | ||

For the late model bikes there is a service manual and a electrical diagnostic manual. If your going to work on your own bike get both manuals. At the dealers they are inexpensive at $60 each. | ||

Hey Mike, I haven't been on here in a long time as I no longer have my XB12r, but I came back looking to post my '08 Service Manual for sale. Are you still interested in finding one? On a related note I also have some T-Rex stands that fit an XB12r as well. Both are barely used and in great shape. Let me know if you might be interested. -Chris | ||

I'll try to give you a shout at about mid-day today(Tuesday). BTW, I was looking at the manual last night and I'm pretty sure all of the electrical diagrams are included and not separate like some of the other years. FWIW, in checking my '08 service manual, the wiring diagrams are included. However, the alternator, for example, in the service manual, only includes info on remove/replace. For information on troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, ect, all of that is located in the electrical manual. Hope this helps, Dave | ||

I actually have the official electrical manual downloaded now as a pdf It is very informative and detailed with flow charts and fairly easy to understand. It takes a lot of mystery out of the ecm functions and the check engine light issues. I am going to get Chris"s service manual and maybe his stands as well, talked to him today, nice guy |
