Has no bearing on the Uly discussion, but: Zipping through the city - Honda Grom

http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/reviews/grom-fev er?src=DOC&dom=yt

And while I'm plugging little bikes:

That said... From the people that I've talked to, if you want a Grom for racing, you are better off sticking to Grom spec. classes... They do not compete with things like the KAYO MR125 and that was evident at the race I went to on July 24 where the tricked out Grom got lapped by the not tricked out KAYO. Oakland Valley Race Park may not be very far from you (closer to you than me), check out the schedule on nyminigp pages and maybe I'll see you there once my brother and I get our bikes ready.

Now as far as the Buell being heavy, it only took a couple of rides on my Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classic to make me feel like my XB9R weighed almost nothing!

Go for 15-20 min ride to warm up the bike first, then let it idle for a couple minutes when you get back before you shut it off. This will ensure most of the oil is pumped out of the crankcase and heads, and warm enough to drain quickly. Then

-Change oil and filter. Put in 2.5 qts initially.
-drain primary fliud
-adjust and lubricate clutch and cable per FSM
-with the bike upright, refill the primary per fsm and reinstall clutch cover. Usually takes about 900ml
-adjust and lube throttle cables
-check and adjust primary chain tension per FSM while it is hot, then reinstall inspection cover
-check torque on critical fasteners, namely pinchbolts on the triple trees, axle pinch bolts, rear shock mounts, steering head nut, exhaust stud bolts (at least the fronts that you can reach), muffler clamp. Torque these per the fsm, not güdentite.
-check tire pressure (biggie, as it can change a lot in even a week, but non one checks it)
-check air filter, replace if necessary
-check tire tread for depth and inconsistencies
-inspect belt and pulleys
-inspect wiring near ECM
-inspect electronics (lights, horn, dash)
-inspect brake pads, lines and rotors
-measure battery voltage and charging system functionality
-lube jiffystand and inspect spring, replace if it doesnt hold the kickstand tight to the bike

Go for a 15-20 min ride, then let the bike idle a few min before shutting off. Then check the oil and top off as necessary.

Not part of the 10K itself, but based on age, I would recommend a brake fluid flush f&r

THank you all for the helping hand extended. I ended up going to see Griffmeister 2 weeks ago and I learned so much. Did the 10k, minus the forks. Thank you George.

Honestly if I could I'd bring bagels & italian baked desserts for all of you who offered to help. If anyone needs help within the NYC area, Buell related or not, hit me up.

I wanted to comment on some things I noticed after the work was done.

1. Retightened the headbearing to torque spec and the front wheel wobble/shake went away above 90mph+.
2. Amsoil in the engine made the 5k+ RPMS not sound as loud or painful. The engine seems much happier. Seems cooler but doing all of #4 I'm not sure.
3. Adjusted primary almost eliminated the bike surging when getting on/off the gas. Before I assumed it's because of HD engine.
4. Right thigh heat practically eliminated, bike already had comfort kit but it was still bad. Installed heat shield on inside of frame & rubber thigh/knee grips on outside, frame perfectly cool but heat still blown into thigh. With George installed heat tape over the head opening on frame (triangle opening under back of airbox. This stopped all hot air blowing through the crack between frame and seat onto leg. Left side is the "hot" side now and I'm thrilled with fixing this issue for NYC stop n go riding.

Looks like you were aware of the lower revised oil drain plug torque spec.
