Hey again - Have another quick question for the experts... I have a 03 XB9R, just put the new 14mm belt on, with a Free Spirits tensioner. Found a Baker 26T Steel pulley brand new for a pittance, so I had to try it. First ride out tonight, when I deck the throttle, front wheel lifts, but it feels like the belt is jumping teeth. I tightened up the adjustable tensioner, about 1.5mm from coil bind - about 3 turns on the adjuster nut, haven't tried it out again, but wondering if you thought it was the lack of circumference on the 26T vs. 27T pulley, or, the Free Spirits is a bad idea in general......which would suck as I have 10 miles on it. My OEM 27T is M.I.A. in Italy, Free Spirits won't answer me on the pulley sent to them to lighten. Been over a month and a week, they apparently still have not received it. Thoughts, Buell experts? |

If you were skipping teeth, I would wager the belt would not survive. What is the bike doing to make you think your skipping teeth? Pulsating pull when you wack the throttle? From what I understand the Free Spirits tensioner works great, but not having ran one before I can't say for sure. |
