I've had my bike in the shop for the past few weeks. Thought something was wrong with the tranny but just found out the clutch is the problem. The bearings are pretty well smoked, and the springs are in need of replacement. My mechanic says he found parts for $1000. I don't know if there is some way I could spend less for a clutch assembly. |

Parts for $1000 or $100? $1000 for a spring and a bearing sounds a bit steep to me. Maybe he's qouting HD list prices ? |

He told me one thousand dollars. I don't really know much about the clutch assembly, but I would assume I could get it fixed or a whole new assembly for less than that. I don't know where or how. |

do you have a moto-kowledgebale family/friend local to you ? sounds like you need them to help you out so you don't get overcharged for this repair. worst case, you'll have to pay the guy for his diagnostics and take the bike to a different repair shop. |

My mechanic put in a clutch assembly that I found on ebay. It works great now. |
