Has anybody ridden with M1s then gone to a ST tire or vice versa. How much of a difference is there in felling of grip, and handling, stability ect. I love my M1s but I'm not sure if I want to spend 110 bucks plus mounting and balancing twice a season. |

Bought Metzler Z6 St tires before a 10 day 4000 mile trip. They worked great and I didn't feel like I was giving up anything. I'm so confident in them that I'm using them for my next track day in two weeks. |

I used MeZ4 (now replaced by the Z6) on track days, and didn't run out of traction until I had enough lean to grind my modded kick stand (trimmed back the rubber bumper for a few more inches of ground clearance). I'd say, that for sane street riding, the Z6 should give plenty of grip. Henrik (I run Sportec's on my track bike and Z4s on the street bike) |

I went from Diablo's (same profile and tread pattern slightly different rubber compound) to Continental M-Force ST tires and after a strange initial wear, the tires have been fine. Just took a nice 2 up ride on the XB with some very twisty 15-20mph corners in 4th the whole way. Very good tires. I will be trying a RoadAttack rear next. Since my bike is now my only transportation, I will be refraining from trackdays until I get a second bike. |

Thanks for the input guys. For now i just ordered another M1, My front is still in really good shape so instead of spending an extra 100 to replace a perfectly good tire, Ill just wait until the front is worn and then figure out which set to go with. |

Wycked,I have the Road Atacks,I love them and the rear is going to get atleast 10,000 miles out of it. |

On the S3 I had good results putting a softer compound tire (MeZ1 - I think) on the front and an MeZ4 on the rear. I got good grip and a front I really trusted throwing it into turns - track days and such. And also got a rear that wouldn't shred in a few track days. However, I only did this after confirming with Metzeler, that the profile of the two tires were compatible. Contact the manufacturer prior to trying something similar. |

I love my M1s but I'm not sure if I want to spend 110 bucks plus mounting and balancing twice a season. I would love to only change tires twice a season! Of course I ride A LOT. No burn outs or nuthin' like that, just pure riddin', mostly twisties, some commuting. M1s have served me well. Diablos are next. |

Yeah huh... I've had my bike since last November and I'm on my third rear and second front M1. Used up the Dunlop fairly quick and I think I'll go to Diablo's next just to check them out. I still haven't been able to get rid of the chicken strip on my front M1 though... Maybe it needs less pressure. |

I still haven't been able to get rid of the chicken strip on my front M1 though... Me either, only been there a couple of times, and I didn't notice I had been that far over until it was pointed out to me. The tires are narrower, and taller, we may never get it scrubbed in that far, on the street any way. |

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. I don't even really want to take them off on the street. There's always too many big, sharp and jagged rocks just off the road where I ride... I may do the track day in early October though. I think I have about 1/4" or just a little less on the front. I actually drug my foot the yesterday. I had before but only when I was being lazy and letting it hang out a little. Yesterday I was taking a left passing a car in a passing lane on the spars doing about 65 and had my feet tucked into the primary case. It actually touched down. I wasn't hanging off or anything and it seemed like the bars were only about 8" or so from the ground. I would imagine my hero blob was only millimeters away from the ground but I didn't have the time to take a look . So far I haven't been able to touch any hard parts, but I'd like to try for the hero blob on a track . |
