anyone have them for sale? the one from heavy cycles looks good but CRAP!! $275???? on the other hand I dont want a cheap 1157 LED thing in there either. I have a 30ish count LED in there now but I am re-doing the tail section and I am getting rid of the blinkers and want a all-in-wonder solution. |

American Sport Bike has one but it's listed at $260. Not much cheaper. |

It is the Heavy Cycles one we sell, part number is 9037, see here: A.S.B. 9037. I don't set the pricing. If we (Joe Able of Heavy Cycle and I) can stimulate the demand to the point where we can order a bunch at a time, we can get assembly costs lower. Until then, the very small build quantities drive the pricing. The only other known application for that particular housing is Aprilia scooters, so it's going to have to be driven by Buell demand. We're working it. While it is a pretty steep price, I can say that it is a quality product. The printed wiring board is built right (and my background is electronics packaging), not like a lot of junk consumer products you see, the board is conformal coated after assembly, and the workmanship is good. The LEDs are very bright, and the layout works. The brake light will blind you, and the turn signals are easily distinguishable from the brake light. I wish I could capture with my camera how good the product works. The Brake LEDs are so bright, they skew my cameras color and make the brake lights indistinguishable from the turn signals. But in reality, they are VERY distinguishable, even to me, and I am partially red/green color blind. Al |

so do you need the old housing? or does it just fit inside a stock one. |

It's a pretty easy installation into the old housing. But I'm gonna install a few into housings for those that aren't electromechanically inclined. The CCA is glued into the old housing since the LEDs don't burn out and aren't repairable anyway). If you want to keep your stock parts, a new housing to install it in is a whopping $22.00. You, Tim, would have absolutely no problem with the install, it's pretty trivial. I'll send you the instructions I include with it as an attachment. FYI - Heavy Cycles I bought a LED light from them for my M2 and it is by far the best light I have seen anywhere on the market. Joe's work is top notch. The light is so bright and well made. I did the install myself and have had no problems whatsoever. I constantly receive complements on it, and more importantly, I have not be run up on by cars since I got it which was my main reason for makeing the purchase. |

Al..... Is it a "plug and play" kind of deal if I get one with the lens? I mean no soldering or wire stripping. TIA, Mike |

Michael, For Plug and Play, it'll cost you $45 more. I have to buy a new housing ($22), bond the CCA in, dress and strain relief the wires, and attach the plugs. You'll get a complete housing, board installed, ready to mount on the bike. I'll come up with a part number for it equipped like that and get it up on the web site. But I can transact one like that for you right away if you give me a call, 760-727-2333 thanks, Al |

Al, I know what you mean about taking pictures of the light. I tried a few times and couldn't get anything that did it justice. If you talk to Joe tell him I am sorry I never sent him any pics. Of course two weeks later my camera ended up on the bottom of a beer cooler while out canoeing. Now I don't take pictures anymore. |
