Yep I searched the archives but didn't really find exactly what my issue is. The low beam flickered and then went out. I replaced the bulb and it still doesnt work. So I swapped the low beam and high beam connectors for a second and the low beam does come on when connected to the high beam wire. So I checked my fuses... All good. I'm guessing there is a relay or some magical electrical component keeping the low beams from coming on? Anybody know what it could be? I don't have a manual, and don't have the ability to download one because of my dumb smart phone isn't smart enough. Thanks for any input! |

I don't think there is a relay. I would suggest looking in the handlebar switch. |

Life really is easier if you have a manual. |

Yea I've only had the bike almost 2 weeks. It didnt come with a manual. Thanks for the link. If it's still there my next pay day I might get it. |

If it is an XB R, then the low beam is connected to the efi power. If the bike runs, then you need to be looking at the short amount of wire between fuse box and light. Make sure the ground wires connected to the headstock are in good shape too. |

Thanks for the info... I've gone about 30 miles since the low beam went out. I'll trace the wires and check the ground wire. I opened the switch box up and it was all good. So I think it's gotta be a bad wire like you mentioned. |

This is the fix to my head light issues!!! Luckily I figured it out after only 2 hours of chasing and jiggling wires. My kill switch has to be on for my low beam to work. This might be common knowledge to some of you, but it sure wasn't for me. I want to say thanks to everyone that has given responses to all the headlight threads. I read multiple threads on this forum today. I happened to see somebody had an issue with there lights working only when the switch was on. So I played with it and BAM!! It works amazingly as advertised now

I never tried that. I probably touched that switch three times in 50000 miles I'll have to try that the next time I'm in the garage. |

I've never owned a Firebolt, but every Buell I've ever owned operates the headlights independent of the kill switch. |

On my 03 R the headlights come on when the ignition kill switch is in the run position and the key is on. |
