Well I don't know about all of that, but I really do like working on this buell, so thank you. Couldn't resist doing a quick mockup with the new aluminum subframe pieces.

Can the muffler be made to look like a belly pan ? |

A Buell AND an XR650R--you have good taste in bikes. |

I am not sure what you mean by the mufflers looking like a belly pan. The mufflers will look how they look in the last picture. I will be re using the stock chin fairing and modifying it to fit. Ha, I've got a lot of bikes actually. Hondas alone I've got .... Mr50 Z50 Xr80 Crf150f Crf150r Xr650r Vtr1000. Highly highly modified Lots and lots of other custom bikes too. |

You don't see a slip roller in everybody's shop either. Or a lathe. Or a big honkin' vise. |

Started on the other side of the swingarm.

It's just sand blasted. If you look a few pictures above it you can see it in the raw machined form. |

Started on the swingarm sheetmetal work And since it's Christmas my dad and stretched a triumph frame 2" to fit a prototype matchless g50 motor.

I made good progress on the swingarm tonight. I hope to finish it tomorrow. Carolina Corner CarversD95-E6CE-4011-B7F0-FEF0DCF7C9BF.jpg">

What's the story on the Triumph/Matchless bike? |

Are you really welding it solid on the bootom or are the tack welds just to hold it while working on the top? |

Yes I am really welding the brace in solid. That is a velocette bottom end, it's just a counterweight In this picture. The matchless engine is in my dads shop. |

Didn't get the swingarm quite finished. I'd say it's at about 90%. 3 or 4 more hours of work should have it taken care of. Opinions?

Is there any concern that the welding will twist the wheel? With your experience, you probably didn't weld it all up at once and dump a ton of heat in. |

Looks killer! Did you incorporate a removable spacer where it's bolted together? |

Normally I would only weld on the swingarm with it on my swingarm jig. Due to the odd shape of the swingarm I tried to keep it straight without the jig. Once it's 100% I'll check it for straightness on my fixture plate. The axle still goes in and out smoothly. I've done all the welding with an Eastwood tig 200 welder. It's done pretty well, especially considering the price. Here it is without the spacer in place.

Is there enough space for an 04 belt to fit in there? Iirc the 03 belt teeth are smaller & shorter ... I'd imagine that at some point you'll be upgrading to the more reliable 04 belt, tensioner and pulleys |

I'm not sure if an 04 belt will fit or not. I think I could squeeze a larger belt through there. I've never really messed with one to know how different they are. I hope I wouldn't have to change the idler pully as I just made it. |

Couldn't resist the urge to put the swing arm on the bike. I'm happy with the way it looks.
