I have to fix my transmission because it keeps popping out of gear and slipping the drive.
How much longer will there be XB part service at Dealerships?

Most of the transmission components have Harley part numbers, so you can easily source them from any Harley dealer, not just Buell dealers.

As for how much longer you can buy Buell specific parts, there has been no predetermined date.

How on earth did somebody manage ***that***? It looks like it was finished with a machine tool. You think it would have welded to the 5th gear drive assembly or something.

That's amazing.

Wow, that's the sprocket? What does the shaft look like?

The shaft is hardened.

The sprocket is expendable/sacrificial as it is WAY easier to replace.

Just imagine if it were the other way around...

Nice engineering!

Kawasaki doesn't do it that way, I had to split the cases on a KDX because of that.

I think Kawasaki at least USED to do it that way.
My 1989 KLR250 had its front sprocket get wobbly but cleaning the splines on the shaft and putting in a new sprocket fixed it right up.
