Sold my XB9SX few years ago .... knew it was a mistake . Looked at a nice 12R today , miss the neutral riding position of the XBS I know the pegs are a swap but would like to get the bars up and back to mimic the XBSX position Any answers ideas appreciated |

There are many firebolts with flat bars. Maybe some that has done the swap can chime in on what all needs to be done. |

The Lightning footpegs drop right in. Handlebars are another story, due to the fairing clearance. American Sport Bike sells a kit that gives you upright bars in a similar position to Lightning. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/9077 |

Yup, you can use an XBS top tripple, and bars. Just switch the Firebolt's windscreen to a zero gravity sport touring windscreen and the brake master cylinder JUST BARELY clears. |

super easy. 03 XB9SLR lightning top tree, cables, and "just the right dirt bike bar" and you'll be all good. just have to make a mount for the key switch. and your fork lock wont be functional... stock fairing, stock windscreen, stock lightning cables. had to trim the horn button a hair shorter because it wanted to hit the airbox at full lock. this also has lightning low forks, rear shock and jiffy stand ...
