Has anyone else had this problem. My 2006 xb12ss had been backfiring and then dying out of nowhere. The last time it did it I took the seat off and wiggled the wires going to the ecm and it started right up. Upon further inspection I noticed the seat had been pushing down on the wiring harness and ecm. And I also noticed it started to rub a small hole in the insulation of one of the wires. My questions are? 1. Did you relocate your ecm. If yes how and where. 2. Or did you make spacers to carry the weight of the seat and rider above the ecm. |

It is a fairly common issue on the Ulysses, but I have never heard of it happening on the SS. The seat should have plenty of clearance. Can you post of picture of the damage? |

On my ULY, I dremeled the plastic seat pan where I saw rubbing. I tried to relocate the brains but I didn't have enough slack in my harness to put it where I wanted. |
