Had already changed over to the splitfire/performance sparkplugs and high flow air filter. Had to wait for my 12 lid to come in... Put it on today, de-snorkle'fied and went for a ride. Nice sound. No so much that it's louder - it now sounds both plain angry and happy at the same time Low and midrange noticeably smoothed out nice. Not that I ever was, but now, I do not feel like the engine is lugging. If I get another horsepower or two at top end, who cares - the rest of the power range has benefited very nicely. I noticed something else thought that I don't recall anyone posting. Seems to me I felt less heat snaking up on the ol' right thigh. Anyone else come away with this observation? |

I did notice that too...more air flow means more power but it also means the air can move too! However I noted it was a little warmer in traffic for the same reason...no airflow outside the pipes. I think the better flow helps reduce heat a bit as long as you are moving. |

I didn't notice a difference, but then I haven't paid much attention to it. The right leg still gets hot. Mike. |

ah, I've found my sweet spot. I like it just the way it is right now I like to keep things under the covers. Next years' mod will probably be black ceramic coated pipes. |
