I recently purchased a 2003 xb9s. The bike has been sitting for several years and was not running at time of purchase. PO claims that he replaced the fuel pump and FPR. That being said; when I got it home I immediately drained the tank and started with fresh fuel. The system primed but I got nothing out of the injectors. I pulled and cleaned them. With 12 volts the consistently open and close very strong. However, with the injectors placed in the fuel rail and the engine turning over I get very little out of them. I feel fairly certain it is a fuel pressure issues but wanted your input. Thanks! |

Have you ran a fuel pressure test? I have the same thing going on...I get strong priming noise but the owner before put in these bum o rings between the regulator and output from the pump. I tested 10 psi at the inlet to the rail. But it "seems" like a good amount of pressure though if I detach the line and prime back into the tank. If you pull the pump and find anything funky with those O-rings, you likely have the culprit. I just assume replace the pump and filter now in my case since I have the thing apart and you have to partially remove the swingarm to get it out. Heres the thread pertaining to my case http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/735663.html?1396788045 |
