Tell me it's just me! Sorry to say, it ain't just you. Buell's speedo readings have always been shall we say 'optimistic'. Some more so than others. This topic became very interesting with the DDFI3 XB's, 1313 | ||

On my 06 CityX an indicated 66 is 60mph when checked with a gps device. My bike seems to read a bit fast all the time regardless of tire brand or mileage in stock sizes. | ||

IIRC my 06 XB12 reads 63 when the GPS reads 60. It's in line with about every bike I've had opportunity to check. | ||

You can adjust the Speedo rate in the ECM to compensate. Every tire is a different size, and will affect speedometer accuracy differently. | ||

Is that with tuner pro or good 'ol ECM spy? | ||

I don't think the older ECM's can easily be adjusted. Certainly not with ECMspy, and I couldn't find a way with TunerPro either. I imagine if you knew exactly what bits to flip, it could be done, but it's not easy like on my Triumphs using TuneECU where you simply plug in an adjustment percentage. | ||

The speedometer gets the speed signal directly from the speed sensor. The ECM has no control over the speedo on all XB models. | ||
