Has anyone had any experience with race rails on the xb's. Are they effective in a crash? Do they get in the way of riding? And does anyone have any pictures of them? |

Depends on what you are doing with the bike. Are you racing it, or trackdays? If the bike flips, these would not do much at all to protect the bike. Or are you just that worried about the bike in the event that you crash on the street? |

What are race rails? If you want crash protection, frame pucks and axle sliders work great and don't get in the way. 5-0Dro now has engine case sliders, I haven't crash tested them yet, but I can vouch for their axle sliders. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17125 http://www.50dro.com/index.php/buell/lightning/xb1 2ss |

I looked at those case sliders. Are the mounting bolts strong enough to support the bike in a crash without cracking the primary or shearing the mounting bolts |
