My '08 XB electrical diagnostic manual says to short pins #1 and #2, just like with a tuber.

And if you normally ride in that RPM range, could there be wear on the TPS?

Hope this helps, Dave

Not sure Akbuell

Ill be pulling along and once it hits 4000 or so the front end drops down and no power. Until you let off the gas and the rpms drop. .. give it gas again same thing... 4000 or so bogs out.. like no fuel...

Not sure if this is Head temp. sensor, or 02 sensor, or.....

If it was Head temp. wouldn`t think the 4000 or so rpms would cause that...And under hard throttle I can`t see it being the 02 sensor, doesn`t the Ecm read off the stored map, under hard throttle similar to WOT ? No check engine lights on....

I got your PM, but since you made a thread I'll comment here.

Regarding checking error codes, the program TunerPro RT will check them on any year Buell.

I'm not sure what would cause the issue he is having. Perhaps fuel pump is failing to provide sufficient pressure at higher RPMs?

Hmmm. If you can get above the problem RPM area with very gentle acceleration, the fuel pump is most likely OK. There is a procedure for checking fuel pressure, but it seems to be a bit more complicated than on a tuber. If you can lash up a fuel gauge, and don't mind riding with the airbox off while trying to look at the gauge and confirm 50PSI while in the problem area, might be worth a try.

The other possible causes would seem to be a partially corrupted CPS or CPS connector causing an ign issue, or a partially corrupted ECU or ECU connector forcing a fuel flow reduction.

Loose coil or coil ground?
