I have som&e questions, I have a 08 xb12xt uly thats basically has the rocket looks, racks tanken off, tail sectoin reworked/etc. I have a K&N, D&D exhaust and EBR pre-programmed race ecm. On a drag say 1/4 mile, will the 1203 vtwin walk on a cbr600? I have a buddy who has a honda 929 or something like that its a 97 i believe. He's 330 lbs though vs me at 175 lbs. I have more stock torque by about 15 ft lbs than his rocket. Wouldn't the buell take them off the line because of the tq or am i wrong? I know they rev way higher and make around 60 more hp, but its about torque for off the line and acceleration isn't it, hp is more less for holding top speed? |

Part rider, part machine.... Give it a go..... Most drag strips these days offer a open to the public night. Out here, $15 and a risk waiver and you can wait in line to make as many runs as time allows.... I advise this over a empty highway..... My $0.02 |

I'm guessing the race would be pretty close. As power to weight ratio is pretty close. I predict the XB would probably jump out to a slight lead off the line. But, your buddy's 919 will most likely gobble the XB up near the finish; providing he makes a perfect run and you don't loop, the XB, out at the start. |

Love my Buells, but wrong tool for the dragstrip. A skilled 600 rider will smoke you. Badly. You may get the 60 foot on him if you are a great rider, but after that, its done. |

The answer i found out is.... my xb12xt with k&n and d&d and race map will smoke a 05 600 gixxer. Off the line it makes it look like hes at a stand still. I beat him in the 1\4 mile 6 times in a row. Yes he starts catching me but from a dead stop 1\4 mile i win. If we start from a rolling at 10mph or 20mph he wins but in a true 1\4 mile i win |

Not that I would ever condone this activity on the open road... My 12s with Factory Race Kit, would smoke the late model 600's on the open road up to the point that it would be topping out then the 600's would fly by me like I was standing still. So to say you got them in the 1/4 mile sounds about right. Don't get cocky on the highway for safety sake and ego sake, you will get run down on the top end. They just keep climbing past the C-note where the XB's will top out in that 115-120 range. Each bike/rider is different of course. |
