Ok since im in iraq, my bike is at my dads house, well i was tlking to my dad and he told me one of his freinds offered him 8,000 for my bike (its an 03 xb9r i payed less than 7,000) and i been contimplating buying an 05 so im kinda up in the air should i do it. if i do im still going get a 9 so should i do it or stick to my 03 | ||

Sell it, definitely. When you get back, get a '04 or '05, even new that kind of deal will make up for the price difference, and you'll get the new drive system. An '05 will also have the new intake tract. My $0.02 | ||

05 has the upgraded belt 05 has the 12 throttle body (I think) 05 2 year standard warranty 03 is waiting for your return They're not making the white ones any more Me? I'd keep the one I have, just so I wouldn't have to wait one extra second to start riding again. | ||

well having the it be white dont matter to me cuz im painting it when i get back andy way. besides i can order it when i go home on leave in 2 weeks and have it waiting on me anyway. also doesnt the 05 have different forks? | ||

well the one i have now i only got to ride for a week, and i know the guy that wants it, and i know he will take care of it. he wanted the 2003 cuz he wanted it white and im not that attached to it as in that particular bike so besides hes offering me more than i payed for it. but id hate to go and void that 2 year warranty, but i would know exactly what that bike has been through being as id be the only one to drive it. but i like the mirrors better on the 03, though im sure i can get ahold of a set of those some were. and im not sure i like the idea of white rims. hell i dont know what the heck i wanna do. | ||

anytime you can get a newer version of the exact same bike its more than likely a very wise move considering you know they have made some changes from all the things they had found the previous years. TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN WITH IT. I love my 03 white buell but i would jump on an 05 yellow in a heart beat just knowing they have made some upgraded changes. Besides i'm a yellow freak. | ||

Sell it and then go to AAFES New Car Sales somewhere over there and order a new one. When I was redeploying out of Bosnia they had a new car sales booth set up at the beer tent in Hungary. I ordered my wifes Sporty while I was there. Saved almost $1000. Only had to write him a check for $50 to order it. I then had it delivered to H-D of Dothan and went to pick it up when we got to Alabama. Worked out real good! | ||

Yeah, sell it. If you can make a profit, renew your warranty AND upgrade to the new belt guard system... DO IT! If you REALLY like the white one... Ask the guy that buys it if he'll trade you plastics when you get home and you'll buy what ever color he wants... | ||

yea i have been staring at the 05 since i put this post up and im comeing real close to saying ill do it (dont like white no way, the guy that wants to buy the bike wants it cuz of the white) im just still pondering on it. the biggest thing keeping me from doing it is probly to every one ele the dumbest thing and that is were could i get some 03 mirrors? | ||

dont forget the cost of any upgrades you have done that you will need to do again. eg: exhaust, race ecm , mirrors etc. | ||

the 03 is bone stock exept the race kit that came with the bike when i got it which i was planning on takeing off the pipe off any way cuz i want a drummer but other than that nothing is done to the bike so no loss there | ||

good thing to think about besides i know the guy that is buying it, and ive known him since i was little the guy worships any bike that comes from me, my dad or my grand father cuz he knows we take care of our bikes and he babys them so i know the bike will be taken care of | ||

smart move. When you do get the Yellow if you want white still I WILL GLADLY TRADE YOU PLASTIC. I would even probably give you few extra dollars in cash if you seriously wanted to do it. It beats paying $700 to buy new plastic. And one more thing. You can take my 03 mirrors too if you trade plastic. (Message edited by jeremyh on September 02, 2004) | ||
