Winter is killing me, supposed to be -70 Monday! I want to pass the time by prepping for next riding season. Last riding season was my first year with my 09 XB12Ss, I love the thing. I just want to add a little extra umpff to it. I bought it with Jardine exhaust, K&N filter, Breather Reroute. Wanting to take it a little further and either go with a EBR ECM or do a custom tune. I am reading places that 09 ecm's are a little screwy with tuning. Is there truth to this? I would hate to try and go ECMspy and brick my ecm. I do have knowledge with data logging and whatnot on cars, so I am not against doing a ECMspy for custom tunes. My other issue is the nearest bike dyno is 3 hours away. I do have a pretty good butt dyno though I know how it goes, EBR ECM owners will say EBR is the way to go, and ECMspy guys will say don't waste your money. I am past that part. I just am curious about the whole 2009 ecm deal, can I just get a ECMspy cable and go to town? |

I'm not up on the whole ecm thing but I do have ecm spy and use it for codes and tps re sets. I understand that you copy your current configuration before making changes. This prevents "bricking the ecm". Again, I've never messed with it. Mine runs fine as is. |
