I have the dealer application on my desk! I would like to put together an order and need to know if any of you want some bars. If I can order in bulk, I think I can save everyone a little $$$$. So, what do you say? Dave |

Yep, and I have them in stock! Crossroads bars. They bolt in to where your handlebars bolt and lower and move them forward. Very nice aluminum parts, complete with handle bars. 249.95 1-866-757-1651 Dave ask for Dave in the sales dept |

I haven't gotten dealer pricing on them yet so I don't know for sure if I can do the "ever popular" Badweb discount or not. They list for 295.95 so if I can they will be 266.36 I will try my best to be able to do the discount. Want some? Dave |

Just to be clear, per my last conversation with them, black is no longer available. I have the last black set made. Very nice ride now, but it DOES affect the way in which the suspension needs to be set...I haven't found the sweet spot yet....but my 100 mile per day commute no longer leaves me with aching wrists! You WILL need a security torx driver to complete the install to disconnect/reconnect the ignition module. I will post the Snap-on # for reference. Chris |

Chris is right, black has been discontinued, we sold the last set made to him. I know if *I* owned a firebolt, it would have the Heli's on it. The approx 1" up, 1" back that they pull the bars is about the max you can go with the stock cable lengths. I like the position they put you in a lot better than stock. If one needs even more pullback, we carry the LSL superbike bar kit for the XB-Rs. It moves the bars 3.5" up, 3" back, but still works with the stock fairing. They come with the required hoses. see http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F6214190&rnd=4095 712&rrc=N&affl=&cip=69.160.138.75&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=9077&cat=&catstr= Re: the crossroads bars, I'm having custom bars made by crossroads with 0 degree down angle. Their stock ones have 7 degree down angle and are the same ones used on several of their top triple tree bolt-on bar sets. Better than the OEM Lightning position, but IMHO, too far down. These 0 degree bars should be about right based on the measurements I've made on the shop XB9 with the regular crossroads bars. I'll have them in about 3 weeks or so. Per what Chris said, you need a special torx key with a security hole to remove the ignition lock. I've got them, but I don't have the number here at home and haven't put them on the web site yet. Ping me if you need one. Al (Message edited by al_lighton on August 28, 2004) |

Whoa, those bars are WIDE! How much wider is that conversion than the stock firebolt position? Even looks like Heli moved the clamps a bit to widen the controls if my eye is tricking me. |

Anthony, The lighting bars are considerably wider, not sure if the Heli's are. I'm trying to get the 0 degree bars made 1/2" shorter per side. The clearances for the tank and controls are there, no issues with that. Al |

The number for the Torx bit I needed to install my Helibars was 45. |
