I don't want to buy bar end mirrors just yet. I want to find a set of adaptors to will have a male metric stud to go into the handlebars and a female standard end that will accept a Harley Davidson mirror. If anybody knows of something like this pleasepost it.

I need to see a pic of this when you're done. Sure would like to have a set of lower and wider spread rectangular mirrors.

However, looking at my X1 and my Wide Glide, it appears all I would be able to see is my wrist watch. LOL

I think Ducati Monster mirrors (oval shaped) might look good.

Just ordered a pair of mirrors from Trojan Horse from my wife's XB9S. She hates the stock lolipop mirros. My first time ordering from Trojan Horse. What time frame for delivery are we looking at. She wants them in time for the Running the Ridge BRAG event in Sept.

Oooops I posted this on the wrong thread. Are these the ones you got on order from Trojan Horse? Definitely better looking than the Mickey Mouse ears.

Mitch, Kuryakan (sp?) makes a cruiser adapter for what you are looking for. I have them on my XB. I have Ness Drag mirrors. I would suggest getting the longest stems you can find otherwise you will stare at your forearms the entire time.
I made the mistake of getting 5 3/4" stems and I should have gotten 7".

They come in two different part #'s, they are made for Yamaha (left handed threads) and everything else. You need the everything else #.

I don't have the part # but I will see if I can find it for you.

Interesting...Need to look into that part.

Anyone else have pics of alternative mirrors that are not the bar end type yet provide a wider spread for a better view to the rear?

Yes, Tusconxb9s, those are the mirrors I ordered for Robin's bike. Now we are just waiting for them to arrive.

Freyke,
Got the same ones on my 9S, Have had trouble with the throttle sticking when I tighten the bolts. To keep the throttle free, I keep my right mirror somewhat loose. Problem is, @ freeway speeds, the wind causes the mirror to point down.
Advice?

Ivanski,
Move the mirror out from the barend just a little and trim the grip rubber back and it shouldn't stick.

Don't trim it, for the price of the mirrors you got cruise control.

Ivan, i had the same problem when i first installed them. I just cut the grip down till it was pretty much even if not just a hair shorter than the bars, now no problems at all.

They haven't arrived. Robin likes the looks of them. When we install them I will let you know what she thinks about them.

FYI, I just put 30" wide bars on my X1 and I now have an excellent view to the rear with the stock mirrors.

As a result, my selection of aftermarket mirrors has opened up to many that formerly would not improve the situation.
