Why is it that when I go to my Harley dealer and order, say a tailbag or grille etc..., I get the item in 5 working days, but when service has to replace a warrantied part, say a headlamp,mirror,etc..., it takes 5 weeks?? They have to replace my right mirror and it is now going on 5 weeks and they keep saying it'll be here any day now!! |

Tell me about it. I am supposed to lead a BRAG ride on Sunday from SD,CA to the American Sport Bike bbq. Problem is I damaged my throttle cables weekend before last while putting on a steering damper. So I'm out of town in Chicago and call the HD dealer I normally buy stuff from. They tell me I have to come in to the shop (San Diego) to order and they won't accept my credit card over the phone. Funny this is the same card I always use to buy parts from them. I told them they need to move into this century! Well I guess I am going to buy all my parts from Dave Stueve now as he was willing to help. Even today when I called to track the part, it was no problem for his shipping department to do. Thanks Dave! Wish more of the HD dealers would quit being so uncooperative and dogmatic in their approach to service and customer service. The problem is now the part had to make two trips and unless it arrives tomorrow, I will probably be canceling my part in the ride and letting a lot of people down. Sorry Fread, just telling it like it is. xbolt12 |
