when I hit my front brake lever my rear brake light works, but when I hit my rear brake lever the brake light will not light up. I have to guess it's my rear brake light switch. I broke out my test light to troubleshoot this problem, but the bulb is broken. I was just going to order a new pressure switch. I just need to know if there is anything I should check first? |

A voltmeter can be bought cheap at WalMart, hook it across the switch terminals and see if the switch works. |

Those pressure switches are usually reliable. Before you spend money, short the terminals for the rear brake switch and verify the light comes on. |

The brake switches on our bikes are a well known trouble spot. They are cheap to replace or you can take it apart and clean the contacts. I just paid $22 for a rear switch a few weeks ago. |
