Can anyone tell me how far above the triple the front forks are supposed to be from the factory for a 2006 XB12ss? I have a feeling the forks were lowered a little and I want to put things back to stock. I checked the service manual, but didn't see anything about the height above the triple. Thanks gang! |

I believe the 06 has the snap rings on the fork top tubes? If it does, the top triple sits against the snap rings. PERSONAL preference may vary - but you MIGHT like the forks lowered in the triples as far as they'll go - makes it a little less dicey when hard-braking and turning-in. On longer rides with forks lowered as you describe, it can become more "comfortable" but might be a bit more work on aggressive canyon carving. (Message edited by slaughter on August 16, 2013) |

There are two engraved lines that are useful to use as a reference when raising/lowering the forks in the triple (picture) Big groove is for the lock ring (I never use it) You can use those lines to ensure that forks are set to the same height.

Yep, mine has rings in it. I just want to know where it was set from the factory. |
