I just replaced the VERY worn OEM pads on my 06 XB12ss with a fresh set of Lyndall gold pads from American Sport Bike. I also had the caliper off, cleaned it, and put 100% fresh DOT 4 fluid in. I used a vacuum bleeder to get the new fluid in, and then finished up with the standard brake bleed procedure. I don't think there is any excess air in line at all. After bedding the pads in a bit (I also cleaned the rotor up prior to install), I've found them to be pretty mediocre. They lack the initial bite the stock pads had, and I feel like I have to pull the lever a little bit harder to get the same overall stopping power. Don't get me wrong, they work, they just require a bit more effort. Anyone else not happy with the Lyndall pads? |

At first they do have less initial bite than most other pads, but they have a nice progressive feel. After putting a few miles on them they will improve and some of the bite will return, but they won't have as much as the stock pads. It comes down to preference, but I prefer the more progressive feel of the Golds vs the on/off feel of the stock pads. |

I would definitely agree that they are getting better each ride. I also like how linear they are, I just wish they had a touch more power overall. The linear nature does make rev matching downshifts while braking much easier. I think I'll give them a few hundred more miles before I give them a final verdict. |

Mine were sucky at first but a few "panic stops" seated them in OK. Squeaks a little now sometimes though. |

If you decide to go with something else. Maybe we can make a deal? |

I certainly liked the feel of the lyndall golds... but they're the only set of pads I've ever been able to fade also. That said... I weigh 205-215 and it was a hot day in AZ at 5000' elevation (even less air cooling) and I was running my favorite set of twisties back and forth not giving a crap.... I was working the ever loving heck out of them... But no other pads ever did that to me. I like the EBC HH pads. They're nice and hard with plenty of power. I use my fingers for "progressive feel". I don't need extra progression from my brake pads. |

Given that I no longer get my head practically snapped off from the rotor wobble caused by the build-up of the OEM pads, I'm extremely happy with my L-Golds... My Uly with the OEM brake compliment was the most annoying brake set-up I've ever used... I feel Lindy's should have been on there from the factory... |

Yeah... the stockers do build up a bit. The EBC's don't though and they feel good. The Lyndals have a more progressive initial bite and certainly have all the power they need... |

They work well with my EBR rotor. IMO, great feel and no pulse. |
