First off this is my first time posting here and would like to say thanks to all my elders for having me. I looked to this forum for help a lot before finally deciding to join. I currently do a lot of night riding in central Oregon as I work nights most of the time. The roads here (Bend, OR) are dark at night, no street lamps or much other unnatural light. There is also a lot of wildlife on the roads, especially this time of year including, Jackrabbits, Cotton tail, deer, elk and of course the pesky house pets. All of this leads me to the idea of mounting and LED light bar on my bike and changing my now "bright" to another standard headlight. I was cruising the web and found a video of a guy demonstrating the light intensity from a 10" Rigid Industries light bar he had put on his hood inside of the hood scoop. I was amazed by the amount of light they put out, totally trumping the stock lights. The light runs about $200 and I am planning on building a custom bracket on my forks and mounting the light bar underneath the front fairing. I'm sure this will be a real eye sore but its the best solution I can think of for the riding I am currently doing. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Here's a link to the video. http://youtu.be/Sgio2waxufQ Thanks Zach (Message edited by momo4buell on July 31, 2013) |
