Im looking for someone around Salem or Corvallis that will let me borrow an Axle tool. I was going to have a shop remove my wheels and mount my new tires but budget constraints mean I need to remove them myself and I can't find my axle tool | ||

Get a coupler nut at the hardware store. | ||

If you have one of those old timey 13/16ths spark plug socket w/the 7/8in flats on top so you can use either an open end wrench or a ratchet, that will work. Put an extension into the spark plug end, using the flats as a hex wrench. Hope this helps, Dave | ||

or get a bolt that the head fits into the axle and put a couple of nuts on it, jammed together. | ||

Alternately, I've got one down in Florence that i'd be happy to loan out, if you ever made it out this way. | ||

Don't forget to loosen the axle pinch bolt, before trying to turn the axle. If this is your first time working on the rear wheel of a Buell. Make sure to follow the service manual instructions during reassembly. | ||
