Ok so i have a 2004 XB12r and i will notice that my gauges are dim and ill go home put my volt meter on it and the alternator is not charging i have checked connections and the battery terminals are tight. But when i disconnect the battery and reconnect it the alternator will start charging. Now i think its the Voltage Regulator. anyone els got some ideas. |

77 pin when it cools down probably gets connection again |

I would also be suspect of the 77 connector under the front pulley cover, unless it's already been upgraded. Take a real good look around the pins for ANY signs of heat damage. Might as well check the charging voltage at that connector while you are there. It should be up around 30-something volts as the engine revs. If things check out there, I would be suspect of the regulator. They can get erratic when they are failing. Was this a one time thing with disconnecting the battery, or have you repeated it? |
