'09 XB12R with 21,300 seems to cough after restarting from a fuel stop, never from a cold start. the noise is definitely coming out of the air box. it's loud, sounds terrible and is quite embarrassing. she normally fires right up immediately, but after it coughs it cranks an extra time or two more before firing up. I've also noticed that applying just a little throttle at cranking does seem to prevent the cough. once running, there are no other issues. no performance mods and routine maintenance is always done. any suggestions?

My 2008 XB12R does the exact same thing. I'm going to try to clean the intake tonight. I'v seen a few posts about this issue and it usually comes down to a temp sensor or dirty throttle body. I need to do the breather mod too. Maybe that will keep the intake cleaner.
