I called up to Harley Dealers in my area in hopes of picking up an XB key with my vin number and was told they can only order keys for the Blast. Is this the norm? Anyone know of a resource where I can get my key replaced? Thanx. | ||

That's not good, and doesn't seem to make sense. I'd call another dealer to confirm. I believe the XB key blanks are the same as some volvo keys, but that doesn't help you now. | ||

The XB key from my 2008 was the same as a triumph, so said a locksmith that duped it for me. Does your bike have a helmet lock? My friend and I managed to get his Honda helmet lock off with two bolts and the locksmith made up a key that worked perfectly. | ||

Actually it's down to just the frame. I s'pose I could throw it in the truck, drive down to a locksmith with a blank key and hope for the best. | ||

The Xb, Blast, and 1125 models all use the same key and the same ignition switch (with minor fitment variances), and the dealer can order you new keys based on your VIN, but in your case it may be just cheaper and faster to bring one of the locks off of it and get new keys made. | ||

So it's official... apparently HD won't due the VIN for key thing for anything outside of a blast. *joy* | ||

It was $20 for a pair of keys last time I had it done a few years ago, it may have gone up since then. |
