So apparently removing the frame is easier than rotating the engine, correct? I've been searching for a step-by-step how-to (preferably with pics) but have come up with nothing. Does anyone know where one might exist (don't say "in the manual")? I need to do a rocker box gasket switch out. |

I don't think so. Engine rotation is pretty easy. I won't say "in the manual" because you said not to. |

You can download the manual off the . I pulled my frame but I am redoing the frame and all and not just motor work. I've rotated the motor before and it's easy too. |

So apparently removing the frame is easier than rotating the engine, correct? To 'remove the frame' you would have to rotate the engine anyway, so it is certainly not easier to do it that way Rotating the engine really is a lot easier than you would think, and once you have done it once you will wonder what all the fuss was about. You can also cut a few corners when it comes to the official workshop manual procedure once you are adept at it |

What? Why? Block the engine up, rear end on a stand, motor does not need rotated. I did the motor rotate on my 1125 first, I will never go that route again. It's only a few more bolts and a couple of wire connectors more, pull the frame off and whatever it was on the engine you needed to get at is 100x easier and quicker. Haven't done it on the XB yet, but I can't see it being any more difficult, it actually looks even easier. |

It's a 2 hour job - set up like Dean sez above. If you don't have a manual, you're going to have to have a good "feel" for torque on all the mounts, isolators and the rocker box gaskets. I'd recommend using MINIMUM torque values on all rocker box fasteners. (DAMHIK) |

Wait until you get to fight with the transmission vent hose. The kickstand wires on the 03 were some kind of issue, but I don't remember exactly what it was. |
