Anyone here have any tips on how to get the buggers out of there? There's a tube between the bearings and nothing I've got handy to push them out. So what's the secret or procedure? Thanks! |

looks like I jumped the gun. I found a discussion here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/30825.html?1087983311 Now all I gotta do is figure out where to get a tool, now that I have the dern wheel off and whacked that bearing a couple times already... Do ya spose AutoZone rents them? Time to let my fingers do the walking... Thanks again. |

Thanks Captain, those sure are nice! But they look kinda expensive. And I need one, like today... Hey, BTW, how's that died plastic holding up? It sure looks great! |

I bet the guys at ironmachine could get them to you pretty fast if you were willing to pay the price. The dye is holding up great. I still have a bit of polishing to do on the frame, engine, etc. though. |

How do you use the bearing removing tool? Anyone? |

You need a press as well as the tools. The tools allow you to press out the bearing without causing damage to the spacers and wheels. |

Do you have a 2003. If so what color are your bearings. You just might get them free from the recall |

I have an 03, and yes, I'm replacing the orange ones. For reference here are part numbers for the bearings: Rear: NTN 6006LU Front NTN 6005LU available at any good autoparts store for lot's less than the HD dealer. 18k miles on them. They're still good, one's got a small crunchy spot in it, but mostly replacing them to make me feel good... |
