Can't look at it, Buell has updated their U.S. web site and made my browser software obsolete. First the bike, now the web, what next my lunch? |

Look a little bit closer Stonecold. The top two pictures "Do Have" the scoop/cover. The angle of the pictures are just a little bit different so the piece looks different. The first post with the pic from the website is a 12 and has the black subframe and the subframe tube in that pic kinda looks like it is part of the scoop, which it is not. Looks like nothing has changed to me. |

Every XB I have ever looked at (that was stock) had the right side cover/scoop (yes, it DOES scoop air and direct it towards the rear cyl.). The "scoop" in the lower pic is not stock on any Buell. |

Thats not my frame,Ithink he got it when he was getting his headers jetcoated. That picture shows the stock COVER. This is the aftermarket SCOOP.

Trojan sells the bottom one. Im not sure were the top one came from i thought it was trojan but it doesnt look as glossy so mabye its not. Do a search on trojan site for scoop,it brings up some neet sliders too. (Message edited by stonecoldbuellin on August 18, 2004) |

The scrape is on my bike. I scraped it real bad when I was putting the headers back on. Been meaning to fix it, but lack of time. I got to this thread and I was like, damn someone else did the same thing I did, until I noticed it was my bike. hahaha Plus, there not jet coated, they are ceramic coated (unless that is the same thing) (Message edited by lazyme21 on August 18, 2004) |

The stock piece actually is a scoop, not just a cover. Developed during cooling tests. |

Shawn, I think it makes a huge difference. I no longer feel the heat coming off the headers while riding. When I first took the headers in for the coating the guy told me that the coating will allow the heat to flow through the pipe and not come off the pipe don't know if that is exactly true, but I can feel the heat difference. |

Hey Shawn... I'll be heading down to Waikiki tonight about 8:30 if the weather is nice to go riding with a small group. (If they show). We meet at the gas station in Waikiki right at the beginning. It's the only gas station in Waikiki. If you interested. |

Lol Well Tantalus... has the old guy that tosses buckets of gravel onto the road as you go by or the old later that sprays you with the water hose. Your choice! Well we ride every Friday night as long as it's not raining. |
