So does anybody here have a motor this big? Im debating on what to do with my XB9 over the winter. Ill be honest I really want to sell the bike and build a bad ass dyna but I dont have the cash right now to make difference the cost of the harley and then doing the motor. So this leaves me with the choices of do i just put in a 12 crank, header, t body, ecm and ride it or go balls out and make it a monster. |

If you're going to sell it, do NOT put money into mods and improvements. They actually count AGAINST you when you are trying to sell. Best way to get 150 HP out of your bike? Sell it and get a 1125. |

Oh for sure! If I spend anymore money on the bike (other than it really needs a seat, its all cracked from tire cords whipping it) ill be keeping it. The other thing that worries is its a salvage title so i can have full coverage. So lets say it gets jacked.....im out all the money i just put into it. |

90" is a lot of work. There's no way that I'm aware of that you get to 90" without a crank, cylinders, pistons and machining the cases. Maybe there's a formula that I'm not aware of to get to 90", but seems like a lot of work for a bike you don't want to keep. As far as your dyna goes, I liked mine. I wish I had the money to do what I wanted to do with it. Might still have it. (Message edited by Tony216 on November 10, 2012) |

90 inch on a Buell requires machining cases to accept bigger spigot on cylinders, complete motor dis-assembly. |

Well after some calling around and research i wont be doing the 90" kit. The cost of everything vs. The power (well to make it a daily driver power) i will gain is not worth the money. If i do end up keeping the bike im just going to make it a stock 12. But right now i do have an offer on the buell but it depends on what i can pick up a wrecked bike for to fix like i did the xb. Im not going to sell my buell if i dont have something else lined up first. |

"bad ass dyna" does not compute... he must have been watching a little bit to much of this...?! lol.
it seems to be the new fad, buy a dyna, put ape hanger height t-bars on it and a mini windjammer. its ridiculous the amount of people coming into my shop that ask about doing that when they get there new sweet dyna. |

And you charge them an extra $5000 to modify it for them, right? |

usually my first response is "are you serious? you really want to do that to that bike?!" i may make money by selling stuff, but i do have a conscious. and sometimes i DO talk people out of stuff they dont need or give them an opinion, even if they dont want to hear it... atleast i can sleep at night! |
