In about 2 hours my brother-in-law (car mechanic) and I installed the Jardine RT-1 on my 2010 Lightning SCG and one word: AWESOMEOSITY!! Installation was easy; the hardest part was removing original bolts, fasteners etc. The weight difference in incredible! I didn't weigh the 2 exhausts but it's gotta be a difference of 15lb less (my unscientific guess-timation--I don't work out either so I can't even guess lol). The sound difference and performance difference is insane!! Such an improvement. So much responsive to throttle twists in both directions. I didn't mess with the ECM or "mapping" and thus far it's 100%. I highly recommend this mod! You keep the heavy weight for a spare ,in case the jardine falls apart. also on the new experience! |

I've had mine for about 45,000 miles so far with no problems. I think it may be a matter of tuning to not give a lot of popping on deceleration. |

I picked up a used jardine with under 10 miles on it! Guy had it installed, drove home and noticed popping on decel. He went online for advice where he was told the jardine was a piece of crap so he went back and had his stock muffler put back on. I am running the EBR race ecm and couldn't be happier with the combo. |

There is also the inlet modification (restriction) that seems to help as well as adding the Q insert to the tail. |

I would recommend running the Jardine with the EBR ECM. I rode my XB12Ss for about 2 months with a Jardine before I put an EBR ECM in it. The bike transformed, performance wise I felt an infusion of power. It also runs the cooling fan more efficiently and mostly when your bike is moving. I no longer get the, "What's that noise?" question when I turn off my bike. I recommend repacking your muffler now with something better. The factory packing is very flimsy. I took mine apart when it starting sounding really raspy, half the packing was gone after only 1k miles. It felt like cotton when I pulled it out. I filled it with the American Sportsbike packing which has a steel wool core and a high temperature long strand pillow fill. It is much more durable, helps keep better back pressure, and adds a smooth bass to the exhaust sound. Packed it about 2k miles ago, still sounds and performs the same. Enjoy your new muffler |
