front end was shuddering or shaking pretty hard when braking on smooth pavement. as if rotor was warped or had smooth spots, or??? took advice from an older thread. remove lower fork pinch bolts, remove handle bar clamp and bolts, remove steering stem cap nut pinch bolt, loosen and retorque stem cap nut to 42 ft-lb, apply loctite to all remaining fasteners, and in this order torque stem nut pinch bolt to 19 ft-lb, lower triple clamp bolts 15 ft-lb, FRONT handlebar clamp bolts 12 ft-lb, rear handlebar clamp bolts 12 ft-lbs. road test: brakes 100%, all is good. |
