Ok here is the story, I have 06 xb9sx. I have had the common low fuel light issue for about 6k, a while back we will say 10k the fuel pump would do like and extended run time, when priming in the morning. no big thing.
One day 3 weeks ago I went out and stuck the key in and turn the switch on fuel pump did it think I hit start and she fired up just like always.
I made it about 3 blocks and she acted like she ran out of gas! I coasted over and tried restarting she fired right up and then died. I checked the tank almost full . So I pushed her home.
I took her in. they tested the fuel pressure it is at 51psi. they say that good?
Still not fixed. So i bought a new battery since it was the original 06 in her and same issue....... So any advice as to what it maybe?

mod list is short K&N filer, breather re-route, Jardine muffler.new belt at 15k she is getting a new set of tires installed as I type.
the place I took it is a custom bike builder so he is very familiar with HD, But she a buell.

any direction to go is better than none.

You need to remove your fuel pump, repair the chaffed wires on it or replace the pump entirely, then reassemble and you are good to go. Fairly common issue on the 06's.

I have been thinking it was the pump but with 51 psi it seemed fine.

thanks

It is not a pressure issue, it a wiring issue that causes the pump to go wonky. I don't recall the pressure spec off hand, but I know my 1125s are around 65psi.
