Hey. Anyone here know who I can get a heavier rear spring for my XB12XT ? It's wallowing way too much at speed with passenger. Solo I ride one turn out from full preload. So one turn doesn't do it with a pillion. I am 250# and my sweetie is 180#. We ride hard. The belt broke at 20k (12 000 miles) In the parking lot as I arrived at work I was popping up over a crater and whoa.. Better than on the long weekend ride the day before. Also fork seal at 20k too. 4th year maintenance. And...I was two days late trying to buy a 2003 XB9R with 4000 miles for $3700 Mint. Still had the warning stickers on it. Anyway Spring anyone? -p |

The Buell Race spring is a good bet if you can find it. I put it on my bike and it handles my 200+ and my lady's 110+ a lot better than the stock spring. |

So for a 180 pound rider , I guess one should not use it for street use etc. ? Plus I guess that would throw off the MAnual settings one can use for the stock blue spring....Or can one still use the manual settings for the " Red " spring ..Hmmmmm Wonder what you guys thoughts are on that? |

The rear spring that came with the race kit I purchased had a little pamphlet detailing the adjustments for it instead of what was in the manual for the stock spring. |

Unlike the stock rear spring the race kit spring is not progressive, but instead linear. Therefore is a bit harsher over bumps but with improved feedback. It is also not recommended to ride with a passenger with the race suspension kit, per the instructions. Try finding a local suspension guy that can order springs for your weight. |
