B&B...That's way too cool. Let me know if they are selling the rocket packs out in So Cal and how much.
The reason for the inquiry is their are a number of CheeseHeads that need a little boost to keep up with R1DynaSquid now that he finally got another performance bike.
Think that thing will get us up to the 172 mph mark? Will hanging-off help or hinder the performance in the twisties? Will the extra thrust help keep the front wheel on the ground?
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

It all came from SAEng (http://www.saeng.com)
and I ordered a combination of things; first time was a charm.
I'll get the part numbers and specifics together.
It cost WAY too much, but I was already a$$holes and elbows into it. It was (gulp!) over $150 for the mount. I don't know why the hell I agree to that, but I did...
A Buell and his money are soon parted...

that looks really nice,I too was contemplating on putting on a gps or a radar detector it's just that I don't know where to put them and buying a mount for it cost way too much in that same website. |

The cost is, as you say, rather high. However, the stuff is top notch, works perfectly and did so the first time.
I am sure there are more cost-effective methods, but I wanted something that looked OEM. I think it does. This same mount can hold my camera or radar, so it sold me there, too.

GARMIN LEGEND ON A '12R. (Dig it, Coldwthrrider!)
Had to drill two small thru holes in the tree.
The mount is a cut-down, finessed, bicycle mount, $15.
Solid when mounted, stealthy when the geeps is in the pillion.
Next mission: rig power cable.

Nadz: That's exactly where I plan to put the eTrex on mine! I ordered a RAM mounting bracket (plastic) for $10 and will have to make some metal brackets to clip it on there. Is it okay being parallel to the tree or would it help to tilt it up a little? I'll be working on it next week once the parts come. GPScity.com sells a generic 12V adapter for $19.99 that I ordered for continuous power, the Garmin one is $30. |

hey Cold', watch the clearance on the near side- your brax gotta be small or you'll hit the tank. Drilling was not my first choice, but I just couldn't find a way to wrap something strong around the 'tree.
The stock angle of the triple is good for my viewing pleasure, but you could always make a little wedge out of nylon.
Have you figured out where to tap power off the dash yet?

Here's another nice addition to the bike for S/T. I stopped by Aerostich on my way up north this weekend and picked up this thermometer/clock for $22. It's even got an 8hr memory to recall the recent temps. Just another non-necessary gadget but I like to know how cold/hot it is. It's supposed to be rain-proof but not waterproof, the guy at the store said some people have to replace them every 6 months if they leave them out in the rain. It does have a quick release to snap off so I'll remove it if necessary.

Even though this thread has been grabbed by the quick jaws of "Archive through..." and will probably never be seen again, I'll post the pics now that I got my GPS bracket on. This is similar to Nadz but did not involve drilling. Instead I used 3M foam double stick tape, which is solid as a rock if you have a big contact area. The RAM mount bracket was screwed on to a 2" x 2.5" piece of 1/4" plexiglass. Hopefully the GPS doens't take a dive onto the pavement if the adhesive gets old or wet. I'll probably add a safety strap just to be sure. It feels very solid so I'm not too worried.

I took it out for a ride and found the speedo reads 2.5mph high around 40mph and 3mph high around 65-80. This is handy to know even when the GPS isn't mounted. At speed it was rock solid and easy to read. |

Hi
i had a Ipaq gps system with GPS reciever that i want to put on my XB9S.
i want to make a mount to use the STD mirror mounting on one side but need your help.
I am in the UK and the powers that be decided years ago the "Feet and Inches" where not any good any more, and we now use that "french stuff" Metric.
My problem is i can not find out what thread the mirrors use as it is not Metric, so can not get/order some bolts.
anybody know what this thread is ?
