I've had an '08 XB12X for almost 2 years and my wife just bought an '09 XB12XT. The fan seems to work differently on the '09 XT - it turns on in traffic which mine never does, but it doesn't always come on after you turn the engine off, which mine does all the time. I was told in a different forum it could have to do with the fan logic in the ECM. I was wondering if it makes sense to have the local dealer re-flash the ECM or save the money and leave it as it is. Is there any way I could do it on my own if I purchase a cable? Thanks! |

For the 2010 model year, Buell changed the fan programming as part of the new comfort kit to reduce the noticeable heat coming off the bike. Buell made an ECM update available to the 2008 and 2009 bikes to change to the newer fan programming. It is a free update from your favorite Buell dealer. A better option in my opinion, is to buy the Race ECM from Erik Buell Racing, it smooths out the fueling and other settings, improving off idle response, general smoothness, reducing vibration, better fuel economy, and it has the 2010 style fan programming. |

Yan, maybe this '09 XB12XT has been updated with '10 release. You could see more details in: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/442728.html |
