04 XB12R, 14k. I go for a spin one day and the turn signals stop working. Fuses, check. Bulbs, check. Swap out flasher, check. (Bike has bulbs in front and LED in rear - been that way since I got the bike - always worked fine. I opened the left handlebar controls, everything appears to be in good order. Switch holds in position for left and right and center button releases/cancels as designed. When I plug/unplug the flasher, even with the turn signal switch in the cancel position, the flasher flutters as though a load is present. When I check the flasher plug, one slot is hot. Inside the switch, no matter whether the switch is turned to right or left signal, or in the neutral/off position, none of the four wires to the switch is hot. If I jumper off the hot side of the horn switch, I can get the left and/or right signal (brown or violet wire) to burn steady (but of course no flash since I'm 'beyond' the flasher. Electrics ain't my strong suit. Anybody with a better working knowledge of electrics got a suggestion to hone in on the troubles I've got? (Yes, I understand riding forever without turn signals is an option, but . . . ) Thanks. |

You've followed the +12. Now follow the ground. I would suggest poking around up front under the flyscreen. My XB12X popped the grounds there a few times. leave the blinker switch on and wiggle the wires coming from the front of the frame. I'll wager you will find your enemy in there. |

Did youcheck the ground going to the frame behind the forks? Those wire broke on mine. |

Had a similar issue with my '06 Uly. Not sure if the wire harnesses are close or not. Wrote a link as to what I did. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/682786.html?1339109208 |
