Well guys here is my predicament.

I have an '07 XB12S with a Jardine exhaust, and K&N filter. As of yet I haven't done a TPS reset or matched the ECM to the exhaust.
The bike is popping something awful on decel now about a month after these installs and maybe a hundred miles. Also, the RPMs at 70mph are around 55 in fifth gear. Isn't that a little high? A couple of others have told me the TPS and ECM changes may fix this, so what are your opinions on what the cause may be and possible fixes?

Also, in re-mapping the ECM, how would I go about this? Buy a cable and go with ECMspy? But I have no experience in this and am a little afriad to mess the stock settings up...

The popping is normal for running an aftermarket exhaust with a stock ECM. The easiest way to fix it is to buy an EBR Race ECM thats setup for your exhaust. The cheaper but more DYI method is to buy the cable from American Sport Bike, and then learn about tuning and datalogging. Doing a TPS reset will not fix your issues.

Regarding your RPMs, a XB12 with stock gearing will be at about 3500RPM for 70mph in 5th gear. Even if you have the XB9 gearing, that will run at about 3900RPM at 70mph.

Thanks!

So what could be the possible causes of the high RPMs?

As for in the original post, it was supposed to be 5,000 RPMs

I've mapped my '06 XB12Ss for a Jardine (with the quite tip), and K&N filter. PM me if you would like the maps I came up with. I'm not sure if the '06 vs. '07 will be an issue or not. It might be a good starting point though. I get very little decel popping on BTW.

I have no idea on the RPM issue, but the ECM won't fix this unless it's somehow reading the engine revs wrong.
